Introduction
Kandala Records Various Artists 03 includes improvising musicians from east and west, using different instruments from erhu, guzheng, to sax and a variety of toys. Lin Hui-Chun, Liu Chun-De, Lee Shih-Yang, Klaus Bru and José Duarte knew and collaborated with each other before. This time they are divided into different groups and play elegant but still unexpected sound (track 1, 4 & 7).  廖珮妤 is Shih-Yang's friend. She and 陳光展, the composer, show a narrative about the modern city life by erhu solo (track 6). Liu Fang-Yi and Gu Huan-Zhang, a duo from Kaohsiung where there are few people doing this kind of experimental music (track 2), join KRVA03 first time and bring us some eerie and thrilling sound. Like these two artists, the majors of Yingfan (multi-instrument), Li Na-Shao (guitar), Zhang You-Sheng (guitar) & 黃奕睿 (sax) are not music or sound art. They explore the map of music by themselves and are somewhat regardless of rules of composing (track 3, 5, 8 & 9). Last but not the least, Luo Chao-Yun, a taiwanese famous pipa player, and some international free jazz/improvisation virtuosos including Antonio Panda Gianfratti, Thomas Rohrer and Michelle Agness also join this compilation. Try it!
